BMW PGA: Rich Beem surprised to see only three big-name Americans at Wentworth

Billy Horschel, Patrick Reed and tony Finau will be the three big titles but if more of their compatriots have reached the trip?
The Wentworth showpiece moving to September is much more perfect for those on the PGA Tour wishing to sample a few big-tournament air on the European Tour, so Rich Beem is amazed that few made the journey…
It is great to see the American men undergoing the BMW PGA to tell the truth and coming over here, I expected to see a few more here in Wentworth.
Kevin Kisner took up European Tour membership, Xander Schauffele played in the Porsche European Open lately, so they wouldn’t need to play here, particularly given the new date from the schedule of the tournament it is a little odd.
So to have Patrick Reed, only Tony Finau and Billy Horschel from the big-name PGA Tour stars , to me that seems somewhat weak.
I’m surprised there are not more Americans, to tell the truth, although Evidently, there are several European players that play compared to the Union that are at Wentworth.
Tony gets the need to play outside of the usa. He said in his press conference that for a player, you will need to play. It is nice to see him come out of their’comfort zone’ of the PGA Tour and also broaden his horizons, and he’ll be a better player because of it.
Billy Horschel is producing his first appearance , and I believe he’s been somewhat surprised by the scale of the function. He described that tournament as having a”significant feel” on it, also it’s good to hear him say that.
Those comments will draw more of his compatriots to come over later on, but we are going to have to wait and watch. Even though some may want to escape this heat the possibility of traveling a long way to perform cooler conditions at another environment won’t appeal to all!
But Billy is about the feel about the area. The potency of the area this week is clearly excellent, although I have played with it before in May, but being in the fall it seems to have a different atmosphere.
It is tough to tell Tony, Patrick and Billy can get on this week. All three are quality players who have experienced success, although patrick a step above the other two.
Tony’s huge span off the tee is clearly a major advantage for him to the West Course, but by a standpoint that is ball-striking Billy Horschel has a great opportunity.
